Columbus Warehouse & Cartage was founded in Columbus, Indiana in 1981 by Ronald and Susan Barker. Ron recognized a need for commercial warehouse space in Columbus to support and ease the production process of a few paper manufacturers while providing just-in-time delivery of the product as the customer needed it. Columbus Warehouse & Cartage, INC began operations with a small warehouse at the municipal airport with only Ron and Susan running the day-to-day operations and limited trucking services provided on one small single-axle truck.
Today Columbus Warehouse & Cartage has grown to over a quarter million square feet of cost-competitive, special services, food grade, and standard warehouse space. The company currently operates 15 late-model tractors and over 50 large capacity trailers, providing delivery and distribution services in a regional area, but continues to expand on an as-needed basis.
As a second generation family owned company, Columbus Warehouse & Cartage is a certified woman-owned small business that continues to carry on the legacy of impeccable customer service and innovative solutions geared toward customer’s logistic, fulfillment and distribution needs.
